Beauty Secrets! Raw Food Journal My Raw Food Recipes Raw Food FAQ

I've been a vegan Raw Foodist for 6 years now! You may have heard about this diet, mostly called the Raw Food diet, some celebrities are into it. It's really just a FRESH & Natural food diet that replaces cooked/packaged/processed food with fresh (ideally organic) fruits, vegetables, sprouts, fresh, unpasteurized juice, and raw nuts and seeds. Nothing on the Raw Food Diet should be heated above 108F. Almost all I eat is fresh fruit, raw veggies, fresh fruit and vegetable juices, sprouts, and some nuts and seeds! Right now I'm about 95% raw, and have gone through long periods of being 100%. Want to see what's in my In My Kitchen?

I have Always been very health conscious, and was lucky my parents were very into natural foods when I was growing up. I have never tried pot or drugs of any kind or cigarettes, I've never had any alcohol beyond a sip of beer or wine, and never been drunk, not once in my entire life. I just hate the taste of alcohol! Plus it can make you fat, kill brain cells, and make you do stupid things. And it's expensive! So it's never sounded appealing to me! My grandma made me promise to never drink or do drugs when I was little, and I've followed her advice.

I try not to eat anything that has been cooked/heated over 108F degrees, and I try not to eat any animal products except for bee pollen and honey sometimes. I probably eat about 50% fruit, 40% vetetables, and 10% fats/proteins, in the form of coconuts, avocados, hempseed protein powder, nuts, and seeds. I take vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and herbs too, along with spirulina, chlorella, and sometimes a green powder supplement. I love the teachings of Ann Wigmore, the Mother of Wheatgrass!! She is the actual inventor of wheatgrass juice!! I believe wheatgrass juice is totally miraculous, and try to drink it whenever possible.

My daily diet is pretty consistant, I work out when I get up, (and again in the late afternoon usually) and drink lots of pure water throughout the day. Breakfast is always either a smoothie or plain fruit. I make fresh raw vegetable juice about twice a week with my Green Star juicer (it's Amazing for juicing greens!), so I have a huge glass of fresh vegetable juice daily, (celery, parsley, cilantro, carrots, beets, cucumbers, apples, ginger, garlic) in the afternoon. Dinner is usually a salad of sprouted greens (I grow my own buckwheat and sunflower greens, and radish, cabbage, broccoli, alfalfa, red clover, lentils, and fenugreek sprouts) and mixed greens. Later I usually have a Cacao Shake, or one of my other Favorite Raw Recipes.

The biggest challenge for me on this diet are chocolate cravings and the wild pizza cravings that happen sometimes, and of course social gatherings where everyone else is eating french fries/cake/ or some other exciting naughty food. My will power is very good, and I won't buy processed food for myself, but when presented with something by someone else, it's very hard to not have a bite! If I slip up, I try not to make myself feel bad about it. Eating cooked or junk food always makes me feel "heavy" and lethargic afterwards, so I just try to remember this and to say no next time! Christmas time with my mom's famous macadamia nut chocolate chip cookies is Really tough!!

I LOVE exercising all the time! I am in love with endorphins and I worship antioxidants. My favorite forms of exercise are Running on the Beach, dancing, jogging, jump roping, hiking, elliptical, running stairs, biking, and tree climbing.
I'm vegan because I love animals, and I can't stand the way they are treated in the meat and dairy industry.

Fruits and vegetables are packed with antioxidants that can keep you young and frisky!! They give you TONS of ENERGY, and keep you cancer and disease free!!! That's why I think they're completely miraculous!!!!!
